Design: Three treatment surfaces: Two – 1 ½ inch and One – 3 ½ inch flat treatment surfaces that produce two ninety-degree treatment edges per treatment surface. The two smaller 1 ½ inch surfaces allow for evaluation and treatment of deeper soft tissue, due to a smaller square surface than the 3 ½ inch treatment surface. This instrument can be used at a 45 or 90-degree angle.
Use: Calfs, glutes, hamstrings, quads, neck and spine, shoulder, IT band and larger muscle groups.
SASTM Instrument Comparison: SASTM #5 instrument produces more evaluation and treatment surface than SASTM instruments #1, #2, #3 and #4. The larger 3 ½ inch treatment surface decreases evaluation time, but allows for greater treatment pressure than SASTM instruments #1, #2 and #3.
